Dashboard Overview

The Dashboard is your central hub for monitoring and managing your digital signage network. This guide will help you understand and navigate the dashboard effectively.

Accessing the Dashboard

After signing in, you'll automatically land on the Dashboard. You can also access it anytime by clicking "Dashboard" in the sidebar navigation.

Dashboard Components

Overview Statistics

The top section displays key metrics at a glance:

  • Total Devices: Number of registered screens
  • Online Devices: Currently connected and active devices
  • Total Playlists: Number of playlists created
  • Media Files: Total media items in your library

Device Status Overview

Monitor the health of your device network:

  • Online: Devices currently connected
  • Offline: Devices not responding
  • Pending: Newly registered devices awaiting activation

Recent Activity

Stay informed about recent actions:

  • Device registrations
  • Playlist updates
  • Schedule changes
  • Media uploads
  • System events

Quick Actions

Access frequently used features quickly:

  • Register Device: Add a new screen
  • Upload Media: Add files to your library
  • Create Playlist: Build a new playlist
  • Create Schedule: Set up automated scheduling

Performance Charts

Visualize your network performance:

  • Device uptime trends
  • Content playback statistics
  • Network activity over time
  • Location-based analytics

Quick Navigation

Click on any statistic or card to navigate to the related section:

  • Click Total Devices → Go to Devices page
  • Click Total Playlists → Go to Playlists page
  • Click Media Files → Go to Media Library
  • Click a device status → Filter Devices by that status

Use the sidebar to access all features:

  • Dashboard - Current page (highlighted)
  • Playlist - Manage playlists
  • Devices - Screen management
  • Media Library - Media files
  • Schedule - Content scheduling
  • Locations - Location management
  • Analytics - Detailed analytics
  • Profile - Account settings

Customizing Your View

Filtering Data

Some dashboard sections allow filtering:

  • Time Range: View statistics for specific periods
  • Location: Filter by physical location
  • Device Status: Show only online/offline devices
  • Date Range: Custom date ranges for charts

Refreshing Data

To update dashboard information:

  1. Click the Refresh button (if available)
  2. Or simply reload the page
  3. Data typically auto-refreshes every few minutes

Understanding Status Indicators

Device Status Colors

  • 🟢 Green: Device is online and responding
  • 🔴 Red: Device is offline or not responding
  • 🟡 Yellow: Device is pending activation
  • Gray: Device status unknown

Alert Indicators

Watch for alerts and notifications:

  • Warning: Issues that need attention
  • Error: Critical problems requiring immediate action
  • Info: Informational messages
  • Success: Confirmation of completed actions

Dashboard Best Practices

Regular Monitoring

  • Check the dashboard daily for device status
  • Review recent activity for unexpected changes
  • Monitor performance trends over time
  • Address offline devices promptly

Using Analytics

  • Compare performance across different time periods
  • Identify peak usage times
  • Track content effectiveness
  • Plan maintenance windows

Quick Actions

  • Use quick actions for common tasks
  • Navigate directly from statistics to related pages
  • Set up schedules from the dashboard
  • Upload media without leaving the dashboard

Mobile View

The dashboard is responsive and works on mobile devices:

  • Statistics stack vertically on smaller screens
  • Charts adapt to screen size
  • Navigation collapses into a hamburger menu
  • Touch-friendly interface
