Analytics

The Analytics section provides insights into your digital signage network performance, device health, and content effectiveness.

Overview

Analytics help you:

  • Monitor device performance and uptime
  • Track content playback statistics
  • View network health metrics
  • Analyze usage patterns
  • Generate performance reports
  • Make data-driven decisions

Accessing Analytics

Navigate to Analytics from the sidebar menu to view your analytics dashboard.

Analytics Dashboard

Key Metrics

The analytics dashboard displays:

  • Total Devices: Number of registered devices
  • Online Rate: Percentage of devices online
  • Uptime: Average device uptime percentage
  • Content Plays: Total content playback count
  • Network Health: Overall system status

Device Performance Charts

Visualize device performance:

  • Uptime Trends: Device uptime over time
  • Status Distribution: Online vs offline devices
  • Performance by Location: Compare locations
  • Device Health: Individual device metrics

Content Analytics

Track content performance:

  • Playback Statistics: Most played content
  • Playlist Performance: Playlist usage statistics
  • Media Effectiveness: Which media performs best
  • View Duration: Average viewing times

Time-Based Analysis

View trends over time:

  • Daily Trends: Performance by day
  • Weekly Patterns: Weekly usage patterns
  • Monthly Reports: Monthly summaries
  • Custom Date Ranges: Select specific periods

Filtering Analytics

Date Range Selection

Select time periods:

  1. Click date range selector
  2. Choose preset (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, etc.)
  3. Or select custom date range
  4. Analytics update automatically

Location Filtering

Filter by location:

  1. Use location dropdown
  2. Select specific location
  3. Or view "All Locations"
  4. Charts update to show location-specific data

Device Filtering

Filter by device status or type:

  • All devices
  • Online only
  • Offline only
  • By device model
  • By location

Analytics Reports

Generating Reports

Create custom reports:

  1. Select date range
  2. Choose metrics to include
  3. Select locations/devices
  4. Click "Generate Report"
  5. Export or view report

Report Types

Available report types:

  • Device Status Report: Device health and status
  • Content Performance Report: Media and playlist statistics
  • Usage Report: Network usage patterns
  • Custom Report: Select specific metrics

Exporting Reports

Export reports in various formats:

  • PDF: For sharing and printing
  • CSV: For data analysis

Understanding Metrics

Device Uptime

Uptime Percentage: Percentage of time devices are online

  • Excellent: 95%+
  • Good: 90-95%
  • Fair: 85-90%
  • Poor: Below 85%

Online Rate

Online Rate: Percentage of devices currently online

  • Monitor daily
  • Identify offline devices quickly
  • Track improvements over time

Content Plays

Playback Count: Number of times content has played

  • Track popular content
  • Identify underused content
  • Optimize playlist selection

Network Health

Overall Status: System-wide health indicator

  • Based on multiple factors
  • Device connectivity
  • System performance
  • Content delivery

Analytics Best Practices

Regular Monitoring

  • Daily: Check device status
  • Weekly: Review performance trends
  • Monthly: Analyze usage patterns
  • Quarterly: Generate comprehensive reports

Setting Goals

Establish performance targets:

  • Target uptime percentage
  • Minimum online device count
  • Content play goals
  • Response time targets

Identifying Issues

Use analytics to identify:

  • Devices with low uptime
  • Content that's not playing
  • Performance degradation
  • Usage anomalies

Troubleshooting Analytics

Data Not Updating

If analytics aren't updating:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check date range selection
  3. Verify device connectivity
  4. Check system status
  5. Contact support if issues persist

Missing Data

If data is missing:

  1. Verify date range includes data
  2. Check device reporting status
  3. Review device connectivity history
  4. Ensure devices are properly configured

Incorrect Metrics

If metrics seem incorrect:

  1. Verify date range
  2. Check filter settings
  3. Review device status
  4. Compare with device details
  5. Contact support for assistance

Analytics Integration

Integrate with other tools:
